PAST PROJECTS
FADO SONG
Trafalgar Square, 2006
I was seeking an excuse to sing one of the Madredeus Fado’s - and found it in the opportunity
to perform at the Lord Mayor’s Festival in Trafalgar Square.
The brief was to explore the theme
of London. As an immigrant myself I played with the idea of loneliness and isolation in this sprawling town.
My turning circular hoop reflected the churning of memories and the relentless motions of a city that never
pauses to consider the loneliness of its inhabitants.
My dress getting caught in the strong winds and nobody corrected my portuguese.
