ST.LUKE'S THE ROPES &
CELEBRATING THE CLOCK TOWER SPACE,
ST. PANCRAS STATION

The clock tower at St Pancras station was an artistic first in February - possibly the first event of its kind in the station’s history - when aerial acrobat, Gisele Edwards, swung, twisted, writhed and dangled for three nights running at the Clock Tower apartment of London actuary, Peter Tompkins, to celebrate his new 40 foot high loft apartment space.

Tompkins has a passion for old clock towers and the event showcased the magnificence of this space with an aerial work that wed space, body, architecture and movement.

The space inside the tower has recently been restored to its former glory as part of the restoration of St Pancras Chambers and the new St Pancras Renaissance Hotel.

"Gisele is a poet on a rope. Her 'gig' on the tightrope dazzled me; I've never seen anything like it. She's also witty, twirling above us, reminding us that elements can be conquered & bodies schooled. She's very funny & very fit & I am longing for the next time I can look up & there she'll be, dancing in the air."
